New look for a two week old website

This weekend I’ve finally had the breakthrough that was long overdue.
In fact by the time it had finally arrived the despair had already settled in and was reviewing the daily specials. I had the hunch it was about to order something I had no desire to relinquish.

Yet the miracle had occurred.

It came swiftly, almost without a worming, but it came.

As I was reviewing all the wrongs of presenting Big Jewelry “as it is” without overloading the presentation to underscore the inherently dramatic impact of partial views, or make it too benign by squeezing the complete artwork within the confines of the tiny frame on the page, the two lines of thought had converged at a point which until then was invisible.

Who said that I cannot have the two concepts coexist simultaneously in one space?
Well they definitely can….

After the weekend of photo shooting – the new look was finally born…

Now it has to survive.

Objective Observer of Self

It is harder then I thought…
I have been trying to conceptually define and more importantly project the style of my future space and realized that web and its virtual reality do not always agree with my touch it / feel it mentality…

The problem is aggravated by preconceived notions one has about her (his) art.

I know exactly what every piece is …and therefore I can never be an objective witness to my own Art’s virtual reflection, let alone the judge.
So I’ve been screaming for help. I needed someone who is not contaminated by reality as it is known to me, to be able to verify the virtual fairytale I’ve been trying to create.
And the best input has been forthcoming from people I know least.
Not surprising … My friends are all cross contaminated to various degree.

My search for the Big and Brave Artwork...

I have been searching through the web for the past two days trying to figure out which types of Jewelry are selling and which designs are in demand.
As I see it the small silver designs are doing just fine, especially if they are modest in appearance.
The bigger creations on the other hand are definitely looked at, but they do not sell as well.
What force is behind this phenomenon? Was it like that all along?
Well, I will be publishing my conclusions shortly…
Stay tuned to Nenni’s Art and Jewelry Project discussion - and I will share it with you if I'll find the answer.

Big VS Small

Big VS Small has been debated since time immemorial.
In my opinion, Women that wear large and exotic garments or jewelry do not represent a timid bunch. They are confidant in themselves and the world that engulfs them. They could be occasionally perceived as threatening, but in realty they are quietly enjoying their body and can be loyal friends if they accept your friendship.
Small things are less indicative. Their neutrality is uncommitted. They could be nice, but they do have the passive aggressive feel that makes me wonder….

Forever Together

My latest design is called "bound together" .... don't we feel alone all too often?
